Motorcycle Crash Investigation Topeka KS -Flyer

This 40-hour course will provide police officers with the knowledge and skills they need to investigate a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle. This course is designed to expand the thinking of current crash investigators with new ideas and concepts. According to NHTSA’s 2021 estimated findings, there were 6,101 deaths involved in motorcycle operations across the Nation.

This comprehensive 5-day course covers what you need to know about these types of crashes to complete the investigation. As our roads become more crowded and gas prices fluctuate, more and more people will be turning to cheaper transportation, increasing motorcyclists in our public ways. Motorcycle crash investigations are often challenging as the operation of a motorcycle is quite different from a motor vehicle such as a car or truck. So are the effects of steel vs. steel crash than steel vs. flesh crash. Presentation of crash examples and investigation techniques will be explored and studied, along with the fact that students will have opportunities to review and use mathematical equations about basic reconstruction concepts as they proceed through the course of study. The courtroom experience of the instructor will also be discussed, along with suggestions for presentation methods to assist in meeting the requirements of our court systems for acceptance of applied techniques and demonstrative evidence such as diagrams and practical courtroom exhibits.
