The Topeka Police RTC is administered by the Topeka Police Training Unit. Since beginning operations in 2015, the RTC has been the home of the Topeka Police Academy and the host of countless classes training thousands of officers.
The RTC offers nationally recognized courses and instructors to help meet the training demands of the ever-changing and evolving profession of American Law Enforcement.

Facility Features
The RTC includes:
- A full perimeter fence with security managed gates
- Full-size Gymnasium: 93 by 135 feet, can accommodate vehicles for training around vehicles, an available 40 by 80 feet defensive tactics training mat, equipment for physical training
- Classroom: 120 occupant 3,150 square feet (dividable) fully equipped with audio/visual capabilities, three overhead projectors and drop down screens, three presentation podiums
- MILO Range Simulator: 180 degree training simulator with over 900 scenarios, including active shooter, CIT and mental health, domestics, disturbances, etc.
- Locker room for changing clothes and storing valuables
- Large restrooms with individual showers
- 1-mile paved interior perimeter road, used for physical training
- Helicopter landing zone
- 8-person conference / meeting room
- Workout gym with free weights, weight machines and cardio machines
- Firing Range: a paved 50-yard shooting range with 16 shooting lanes, a 125-yard rifle range with 10 shooting lanes, a classroom with audio/visual, male and female restrooms
- Airsoft / simunition capable shoot house with moveable walls and furniture
- Classrooms equipped with audio/visual
